SARNOFF SURPRISES CHILD FELLOWS WITH A VISIT

On February 13, 2007, Dr. Charles Sarnoff, emeritus child psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, surprised the Fellows in Child Psychiatry at North Shore University Hospital during their seminar on Normal Child Development.

Dr. Louis Najarian, Course Director, and Dr. Victor Fornari, Training Director, invited Dr. Sarnoff to discuss the topic of the day - Latency. Dr. Sarnoff has written several papers and a textbook on the developmental issues during the latency period. Since the reading for the day was Dr. Sarnoff’s paper on latency, Dr. Najarian invited him as a surprise lecturer. Dr. Sarnoff has supervised and taught classes to many child psychiatrists on Long Island. He shared his years of experience and current knowledge with an integration of neuroscience and psychodynamics, to the delight of all, especially the Child Fellows.
