GLIPS dues are billed independently from APA/NYSPA dues. 2008 GLIPS dues statements were mailed in the late Fall, 2007, and are payable upon receipt. Members are urged to help keep administrative costs to a minimum by paying District Branch dues promptly.
The Nominating Committee met via conference call on November 27th. Nominations were sought for four seats on the GLIPS Board of Directors for the 2008-2010 term. Nominated are GLIPS members Doctors Michael Arena, Ruxandra Badescu, Claudine Higdon, Kevin Kavookjian, Meena Rahmani, Rachna Sharma, Sashi Shukla, and Jennifer Sicignano. Renominated, unopposed for the Representative position, is Doctor Michael Schwartz. Ballots, along with biographical information for each candidate, will be mailed to the voting membership in mid-March. Results of the election will be announced at the April 14, 2008, Board of Directors meeting and will be announced, via email, to the General Membership immediately following approval of the election results by the Board.
GLIPS uses the APA database exclusively for email communications with our members. Please make certain that the membership information noted in your “member profile record” is accurate. You may access your personal information, and make necessary changes, through the APA’s Members’ Corner (www.psych.org).
GLIPS, in cooperation with the APA and all other District Branches, participates in an automatic transfer process. If you are relocating outside the jurisdiction of GLIPS (Nassau and Suffolk Counties), immediately notify the APA of your new address, either through the Members’ Corner, noted above, or via telephone (888-357-7924). This will initiate the automatic transfer process. All local dues must be paid in full prior to transfer to a new District Branch. Members who are retiring need not transfer to a new District Branch. When APA is notified of your retirement, the automatic transfer process will be halted. Questions re transfer - contact Jackie Cast at 732-408-9650 or via email at lipsychiatric@aol.com
