CITIBANK PROGRAM FOR GLIPS MEMBERS

Dear Members of the Greater Long Island Psychiatric Society:

I would like to introduce to you yet another benefit of being a member of the Greater Long Island Psychiatric Society: which is the relationship between GLIPS and Citibank.

GLIPS cares about its members enough to register as a "Bank at Work" relationship here at Citi. That means as a member of GLIPS you receive the following benefits when deciding to move your personal banking relationship over to the Citibank, Amityville financial center:

  • Free Citibank Checking account with monthly direct deposit
  • No fees for using non-Citibank ATMs in the US
  • All 7-11 stores have Citi ATMs
  • Discount on first mortgage
  • Reduced rates on personal installment loans
  • Competitive rates on home equity products
  • Plus more

Please keep in mind as your career progresses, or if you have your own practice, we have an excellent commercial banking program. We can help in all phases of business from Cash management to Commercial mortgages. This represents a true partnership and individual service. Please contact me directly should you have questions or to enroll in the program.

The benefits of this relationship will remain intact as long as you continue to be a member of the Greater Long Island Psychiatric Society or until further notice from Citibank.

Kind regards,
Joe Fioravanti

2008 District Branch Dues

GLIPS dues are billed independently from APA/NYSPA dues.  Third dues notices were mailed in May and are now past due.  Members are urged to help keep administrative costs to a minimum by paying District Branch dues promptly.

In accordance with new APA policy, any member whose dues are not paid by October 31st will be dropped from membership.

Members with outstanding dues are urged to pay these dues promptly to avoid termination of membership.

Acting Chairperson Ruth Waldbaum, MD, reported the results of the recent election for District Branch Directors. Elected to 2-year terms are Doctors Michael Arena, Meena Ramani and Rachna Sharma. Doctor Sashi Shukla was reelected to another 2-year term. Doctors Michael Schwartz and Deborah Weisbrot will continue to represent GLIPS at the NYSPA and APA levels.

It's not too early to being the nomination process for the 2009-2011 term. The Nominating Committee will meet in November, 2008. Nominations are sought for the position of Secretary/Treasurer and for four seats on the Board. Please contact GLIPS Executive Director, Jackie Cast, at lipsychiatric@aol.com for additional information or to offer suggestions for nomination.
